#4/#7 RPI vs. Cortland | 2025 NCAA Div. 3 College Lacrosse | Extended Clips

02/26/2025 - Cortland's opening game was rescheduled from the week before due to brutal winter weather in Upstate NY. RPI came in with a 4-0 record and a #4 national ranking by USA Lacrosse and #7 in the Media Poll.

The game was highlighted by outstanding play from both teams' goalies. RPI's Joseph Perry, the 2024 DIII Goalie of the Year, had 9 saves for the game and TWO goals in the first half. I'm not sure that's ever happened before in a college game. Cortland's Travis Wagner had 19 saves, including a lot of tough ones.

It was a classic matchup between two Upstate NY DIII powers with long and strong histories. It may have been cold, but compared to the week before, it was a nice day for a good early season game.
